Direct replacement for original Garrett requiring no modifications although we strongly recommend an uprated intercooler is fitted to compliment the increased capacity and reduce engine stress.

Standard, fixed geometry turbo design is always a compromise. Engines need a small turbo for fast spool-up and improved throttle response (reduced turbo-lag) but the small compressor size does not allow enough flow for anything beyond mid-range revs. So a larger turbo is required for mid-range and higher revs and increased flow, but this leads to increased lag at the low end.
The VGT – Variable Geometry turbocharger acts like a small turbo initially then alters geometry to increase flow in higher revs, giving an improved spread of power across the rev range. Tdi VGT units use a special actuator operated by boost pressure to control the vane angle.
Power is improved throughout the rev range but particularly in the lower and mid-range revs.
Turbo lag is reduced and compliments any other tuning such as an uprated intercooler.
To get the best from the turbo it is beneficial to adjust the fuel settings however, improvements in driveability will be seen even with standard tuning assuming a healthy engine..
The following must be considered prior to installing an after-market turbo charger –
An uprated intercooler must be used along with – Fresh oil, filter, feed and drain connections. If the engine has been rebuilt or the turbo has previously failed, at least two complete engine flush processes must be undertaken. Oil pressure must be checked and verified as correct and the original cause of failure ascertained and rectified.
The aftermarket turbo charger must be installed by a professional mechanic following the recommended procedures supplied. You will need to supply good quality oil of the correct grade, oil filter and inlet / exhaust gasket (also available on request)
Non-restrictive intake system – we advise against the use of a raised or nonstandard air intake. Please note – any restriction to the air intake on performance turbos will invalidate warranty. This can include raised air intakes.
Correctly sized exhaust system – either restrictive or too little back pressure can cause problems with uprated turbos and can invalidate warranty.

Just a update: I finally have installed the turbocharger this week, it’s amazing! There is no turbo lag anymore, very cool. I had to make some minor adjustments to fit it on Brazilian 300tdi, and I would like to share with you what I learned, in order you can advise further buyers from Brazil:
– We have a different oil feed pipe that uses a banjo bolt on both sides
– The exhaust connection is the same, but about to 10cm shorter; It was easy to solve welding a pipe to make it longer.
– Our 300tdi is not fitted with EGT, so the blanking plate ERR4698 is required
– Finally, as we already knew, the exhaust manifold is very different, and the “bull horns” are required to be purchased together.
I’m very satisfied, and I hope you could sell many others to Brazil, I will certainly recommend your products. Thank you.

Easy to install (even for an amateur like me).
I only had one problem. I had to place the steering shaft upside down, because the joint was rubbing against the silicone hose between the intercooler and the turbocharger.
Makes (in combination with my larger Allisport Intercooler and silicone hoses) a very big difference.
Feels like driving an entire different car. Going up a steep hill is not a problem anymore. I don’t have to gear down…plenty of power.

Hi to Andrew, danke für die großartigen Produkte. Ich fahre einen 300 TDI in der Dominikanischen Republik, das Fahrzeug ist in ursprünglich deutsche Ausführung.
Wir haben XXL Front mount Ladeluftkühler sowie den VGT Turbo verbaut, sowie den Luftfiltereinsatz und die Silicon. Schläuche von Allisport verwendet. alles hat super und perfekt gepasst.
Die Leistung ist überraschend gut! Der Drehmoment Zuwachs in den unteren Drehzahlen sehr groß, was natürlich ein unglaublicher Fahrspass nicht nur im Gelände bringt. Es ist nahezu kein Turboloch zu spüren.
Preis zu Leistung sehr gut. Ich kann jedem der einen 300 TDI fährt dieses Upgrade empfehlen.
Die technische Unterstützung auf die Entfernung, als wir Rückfragen zur Dieselpumpe hatten war ebenfalls sehr gut. Hier nochmals danke an Andrew und sein Team. Einfach Professionell!
Später habe ich noch den Hauptkühler der aus Altersgründen defekt war gegen einen von Allisport getauscht, auch dieser ist in einer Topqualität.

Hi, Fitted this year at first the full size intercooler on my 300tdi for comparison with the standard one and this gave a reasonable increase of torque. However not substantial. Then I fitted this upgraded turbo as it was delivered and it made a huge difference. The car drives considerably smoother and has no problems with going uphill with a heavy trailer. Acceleration is also considerably smoother. The fuel use with the same driving style is also more favorable, although this was not the reason for the installation. The combination of a full size intercooler with the uprated turbo is highly recommended.

Hi Andrew,
I have bolted up all the parts (upgrade Allisport intercooler, radiator, VGT turbo, silicon hoses) and set the fuel diaphram knotch at about half. Did about 10,000km over the chrissy break with a good dose of four wheel driving.
The VGT turbo transforms the vehicle at lower rpm. The extra low end power makes deep sand and steep hills far easier and more enjoyable to negotiate. Fuel consumption is good at 12-13 litres / 100km while running at 3.5 tonnes (full gvm) with a roof top adding wind resistance. Add a 1 tonne trailer (4.5 tonne combined mass) and fuel economy is about 16 litres / 100km.
The temperature gauge did not move with the larger radiator fitted. We only hit low 40 deg celcius, so yet to try it at 50 deg celcius!
The allisport radiator, intercooler, silicon hoses and VGT turbo are definitely worth the money. Now I just have to sort out the exhaust!

This VGT turbo is excellent and has transformed the defender at low engine rpm. I purchased this along with the silicone hoses, XL Radiator (with viscous fan) and Full-sized intercooler. It was easy to install and has make such a drastic difference, the defender feels very smooth.
The temperature with the XL Radiator and the viscous fan stays low so it’s perfect for tropical countries.
Its definitely worth the upgrade.

This turbo really transformed the drivability of the truck as well as improved performance. I have a Allisport intercooler and exhaust and together the vehicle is so much easier to drive in traffic and on the highway. I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone thinking about replacing the turbo in their 300tdi.

I bought the turbo and intercooler more than two years ago. I had to lower the pressure at low revs because it had very high peaks (>1.5 bar) and it could cause reliability problems with the engine.
The car (Range Rover Classic 300tdi) has changed radically. The power at low rpm is enough to move the car easily on mountain roads, which is what I was looking for. At high rpm, I have no idea how it goes, because I never rev it above 2500 rpm.

Thank you for your review Francisco, I am very glad to hear you found a good benefit! The turbos are pre-set before despatch to 1.25 bar, so I would not expect any major spikes above that, so may be worth checking a few things on your set up. Those engines like to spin, so it will benefit from revving above 2500rpm. Let me know if I can advise further.
